After doing the above steps, turn on the engine. Carefully listen to the engine. Investigate any unusual sounds right away. Make sure that both the service brake and the parking brake are properly functioning. Confirm that the accelerator and the steering controls are operating at optimum performance levels.
Check that the forklift could complete proper functioning in the forward and reverse operation of both the tilt control and the drive control.. Check that the hoist control and the lowering control are correctly working. Confirm the attachment control operation. Test the horn and the lights to ensure these safety features are properly working as well. Be certain to inspect other optional equipment like the heater, the wiper and the defroster to make certain they are working as intended. Ensure that all gages working correctly and are reading within functional limits.
