Propane powered forklifts are frequently used inside warehouses. The forklift is designed with the propane tank mounted at the rear of the driver. The tanks, that look much like beer kegs, have to be replaced every so often because they have a limited lifespan. Drivers of forklifts should use caution when handling propane tanks. Compressed gases are hazardous, especially since the gas is flammable. Use care when replacing and removing propane tank to avoid injury.
1 If there is a need to replace the propane tank, the first step is to stop the forklift, then turn the tank valve off. The forklift should be left on until the engine dies. This process burns the gas off inside the transfer hose which connects the tank and the engine. Prior to taking the next steps, put on the correct safety equipment, like insulated gloves made of either leather or neoprene. It is vital for you to protect your skin from contact with the compressed gas, that is extremely cold.
2 The hose of the tank needs to be disconnected, followed by removing the tank from its holding straps. When you put in a new tank, tighten the nut to reconnect the holding straps and to reattach the hose at the valve of the tank.
3 Leaks could be inspected just by applying soapy water to the valve and opening it slightly. If there is a leak, it would cause bubbles to foam from around the valve. If this occurs, inspect the valve area and the connection hose at the nut. Re-tighten the connecting nut if you detect any leaks around the area of the valve, and afterward do the leak checking process over again. Persistent leaks mean that both the nut and connecting hose would have to be replaced. Then again, if replacing the hose and nut still does not stop the leak, the tank must be replaced.
4 Finally, open the valve all the way to enable the gas to fill the connecting hose. Afterward you could start the forklift and resume operating.
Ever since 2011, the Linden Comansa company has offered its customers the LC 1600 series tower cranes. This series consists of the models: 16 LC 185, 16 LC 260 and 16 LC 220. These models are available in various versions of maximum load. The design of the LC 1600 series enables Comansa to keep their fundamental premises, like for example modularity and easiness of transport and assembly.
The series offers a load capacity between 8 and 12 tons, placing between the 5 to 8 ton capacity of the LC1100 and the 12 to 48 ton LC2100 model. Moreover, the LC1600 family brings together the benefits of both series that shares various elements.
